Kizakura Brewery

Kizakura Brewery

  • Japanese Food
Directly controlled by the sake company Kizakura, this restaurant operates out of a converted sake brewery. The menu carries mostly Japanese dishes as well many a-la-carte dishes. However, the big feature of this restaurant is the abundant selection of sakes. And, as you might expect from a restaurant directly run by a sake maker, here you will find special treats like limited-edition sakes that are changed every month and a tasting set offering three famous brands of sake that you will not see the like of anywhere else (¥500 for three 60ml cups). If you are a beer drinker, there is a wonderful draught beer here that retains the yeast for extra flavor to tantalize the mouth. Kizakura has nine craft beers, of which six can be enjoyed in draught form. (Reviewed in October 2011)
Message from Restaurant
We look forward to serving all of you who adore Japanese sake, beers and kappa (mythical creature), as I think we have just about everything that could make you happy. (Kuriyama, manager)
Fushimi is famed for sake, so this area really is the place to sample such good liquor. And, we are sure that visually impaired people can enjoy themselves as well. (Fujita, manager)

Recommended dishes The Ryoma Gozen meal (extra for dessert) comes with seven dishes, beautifully presented and delicious to eat, and friendly on the pocket. Savour the rice, as it cooked the old fashioned way, using Fushimi water and stove.
Barrier info At the back of the shop on the left is the passageway that leads to Kizakura Brewery. There is no unevenness and the floor is flat. The table seating has 71cm of leg room (65cm in one place) and there are sunken kotatsu to enjoy as well.
Toilet info Face the entrance of this facility and go down the righthand passageway to reach unisex conventional toilets and a single wheelchair friendly toilet, with an opening of 92cm. The door slides to the left. The toilet basin is at the back on the left and is parallel to the opening. When sat on the toilet, there are fixed handrails on both sides, a bidet control panel on the left wall, and a flush lever at the back on the left. The washbasin is on the right side of the toilet basin.
Other info Along the way to the Kizakura Brewery there is the Kappa Beer Brewery, which has counter seating with a view of the beer brewing tanks. In this adult, visitors can enjoy the brewery's creations while watching beer production (weekdays). However the counter is set high up, so the brewery will be difficult to see from a wheelchair.

«About the Premises on this Homepage»
The restaurants and bars introduced here have all shown eager support for the outlook of this homepage – however, they are not strictly validated as barrier free premises. In fact, some of them do not even have barrier free facilities, but if a wheelchair user is accompanied by someone, the premises in question also will make an effort to help, in order for any guests to enjoy a meal or a drink, which is why we introduce such premises here. Nevertheless, we do recommend that you contact any premise you wish to go to in advance.
