The Kyoto University Museum

The Kyoto University Museum

This is a very popular museum thanks to exhibits like a corner where visitors can take a video clip test to see if they can outscore a genius chimpanzee or another corner designed to be a diorama of a Malay jungle. And, with more than 2.6 million specimens/materials collected by the university over more than 100 years, this is one of the biggest university museums in Japan. The nature corner offers various fossils, like Palaeoloxodon naumanni elephant, and earthquake info from around the world. Whereas, in the history corner, an entire day can be easily spent perusing rare ancient documents and maps as well as earthenware exhibits that the public rarely get the opportunity to see.
The museum is equipped with barrier-free facilities such as Textured paving blocks and slopes. And, in some corners, some of the exhibits can be enjoyed in a "touch-and-feel" experience.
