Here, materials related to Kyoto, Japanese history texts, books on fine art, crafts and traditional performing arts can be perused in the reading room of the library. Also, this facility possesses administrative documents, ancient texts and photographic material that can be made available for study and research. In the multimedia corner, computers are available to enable visitors to view rare documents and old photographs in digital format. Exhibitions and lectures also are staged at periods that vary depending on the year.
