This museum was opened in 1984 to exhibit the artwork collection accrued over a lifetime by Tokushichi Nomura II who built up massive financial group including Nomura Securities. The collection reaches to some 1700 pieces, includes seven important cultural assets, and ranges from tea ceremony utensils, no costumes and masks, calligraphy, through to ceramics. Tokushichi assumed the name "Tokuan" and immersed himself in the tea ceremony and noh drama, becoming an eminent expert on both. This museum affords visitors the chance to see a complete set of tea utensils for the particular season arranged for a tea ceremony.
The museum has a toilet that accommodates a wheelchair and slopes installed on steps to enable wheelchair visitors to visit. (Month checked: 2018.Dec, )
