Opened in 1992, this was world's first peace museum established by a university. Here, the suffering and aggression in past wars are introduced via various materials, such as a replica of wartime town house and an angel image damaged by an atomic bomb. Beyond these, the museum also introduces specific efforts being made to bring peace to the world. In addition, there are corners such as the Mugonkan, Kyoto Annex and Studio of Life where visitors can think about what they can do for peace.
A free volunteer museum guide can be arranged if booked two or more weeks in advance. (Month checked: 2019.Jan, )
