２Chion-in Wajun Kaikan
Situated in the convenient locale just in front of the sanmon gate of Chion-in Temple, this is Chioin Temple's guesthouse, with alight and breezy interior that makes the most of natural materials, is spacious and designed to be barrier free.

３Chion-in Temple
In the Kamakura period (1185-1333), this is where Honen Shonin lived and expounded on the teachings of Buddha.
Many of the temple building were built by three g enerations o f Tokugawa shoguns, Ieyasu, Hidetada and Iemitsu.

４Maruyama Park
Set at the foot of the Higashiyama range, this park has an east-west incline. In the center of the park stands the famous cherry blossom tree, which is the second one to stand here, being planted as a s eed of the original tree back in 1949.

５Yasaka-jinja Shrine
The Yasaka-jinja Shrine's Gion Matsuri is one of the three m ajor festivals in Kyoto, culminating in aprocession July 17 of stunningly gorgeous floats that draw an audience from all corners of the country.
Also, the shrine is famous as a gathering point on New Year's eve.
