1Kiyomizu-dera Temple
The best known is the Kiyomizu-no-butai, or stage Kiyomizu. The view from here is wonderful, especially in spring and autumn. Below the stage stand the Otowa-no-takiwaterfalland Koyasu-no-to pagoda. This temple was registered as a World Heritage Site in 1994.
2Kodai-ji Temple
This was opened for Toyotomi Hideyoshi's wife Kitanomandokoro (later called Kodaiin) to pray for the repose of Hideyoshi's soul. It is home to many i mportant culture assets, such as the tea arbors Kasatei, Shiguretei and Kangetsudai and Kitanomandokoro's mausoleum.
