This zoo was opened in 1903, making it the second oldest zoo in Japan after Ueno Zoo in Tokyo. Some 150 species are cared for at the zoo, including mammals, birds, insects and amphibians.

This was built in 1895 to celeb rate t he 1100th anniversary of the transfer of the capital to Heian-kyo(Kyoto). It deifies the first and last emperors to rule from Kyoto: Kammu and Komei.

This museum introduces 74 categories of kyoto traditional crafts, from dyeing and weaving to various crafts, and their background.
In addition to videos of the production processes and commentary, you can also enjoy the process, technologies and techniques, such as a space where you can actually experience the product by touching it.
